Goes to show what a movie geek I am. There's only 10 on the top 100 I haven't seen, and only 1 (Captain Blood) on any of the additions I haven't seen. I'm most surprised by the fact that I haven't seen High Noon, because I own it! I bought the DVD about two years ago and haven't watched it yet. Guess it just moved to the top of my list.

You'll love it. I also strongly suggest both Captain Blood and The Apartment.
High Noon is massive. Once you see it, a lot of other things will make sense. It's so quoted.
Very true. You'll also see the origin of the repeated clock shot to show the passage of time. Not to mention the faces you'll recognize!
I may be kicked out of the FFFClub for admitting, but sick in bed with a stomach bug this weekend I watched #47 for the first time. Amazing.
I still don't want to see "E.T." though ;)

Oh, come on. It's a magical film! Wonderful! Watch it with your niece!
You know how "they" estimate people spend, like, a third of their lives asleep? You all should figure out how many years of yours you've spent watching movies.
Winner gets a bun.
jodie k - I saw that film for the first time about 1 1/2 years ago. I don't do gritty realism that much, I get enough of it from the news. And like yourself, I have never seen, nor do I WANT to see, E.T.
No ET? NO phone home? Oh, I love that one!!
And The Big Lebowski was an aquired taste for me, but now I dig it and I dig when my older son quotes it.
Blade Runner just got a 4-disc treatment. I'd watch every bit, just to see Rutger Hauer and Harrison Ford when they were still awesomely hot. (Hauer made my heart flutter in Ladyhawke, too!)
Omigawd, another American has seen Withnail and I!
We're outgrowing our clubhouse.
Oo, I gotta put that Blade Runner release on my list.
Anyway, I love Yankee Doodle Dandy and I don't know why. Maybe it's the sight an Irishman in Old Hollywood playing a Jew. Or no, it's Cagney's surprising ability to dance, that's it.
