There Will Be Blood
Every time I see Daniel Day Lewis act, my opinion of all other actors lowers a bit. He is easily the best actor of the past 20 years. No one else even comes close! The minute he comes on screen, he is the character, and I, as the viewer, have no recollection of him having ever been any other character in any other movie. Ridiculous.

Every time? Even "Stay alive! No matter what occurs! I will find you!"?
Cause that's right up there with any Richard Gere kiss on the list of most overacted moments in cinematic history.
I generally agree about DDL though. I always pictured him as Aragorn. I hear they offered it to him but he was too highbrow. Pooh.
That reminds me, it's time to see "My Left Foot" again!
His roles are all so diverse, they're kind of incomparable. Any particular favorites?
Teacake, when an actor of Lewis' caliber delivers a line you think of as overacted, it's typically because the scene was overdirected. That said, I love Lewis' version of Last of the Mohicans. Loved it.
Eden, if I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be Bill the Butcher from Gangs of New York. But man, My Left Foot, In the Name of the Father, There Will be Blood... hell of a resume.
