"A comedy about growing up
...and the bumps along the way"

Going to see tonight. Heard super good things. Hope it lives up!

Let's hear it!

We saw "National Treasure Book Of Secrets" and it was predictable, but it was OK.

I saw Juno last night for the second time. BEST MOVE EVER! I'm in love with this movie.

To quote, my feeling upon first viewing is…

Hell's yeah!!!

I laughed start to end. Dialogue (kudos, Diablo Cody, the writer who sprung from blogovia…there is hope ;) so inventive and crisp I kept waiting for musical interludes (fab music, btw) to end so I could hear more. I ate it up like my popcorn.

Such a relief the movie took no easy-ways-out or the predictable plot turn that makes you grroooaaannn (yes, saw it coming that J.G. would get the little bean, but didn’t feel doing so tried to pull some weepy emotion out of me – see the truly awful “The Family Stone” for example). Allison Janney is an amazing comedienne (you must watch her in “Drop Dead Gorgeous”).

I have a bit of crush on Jason Bateman ;)

Another wonderful touch? How the filmmaker remained in the scene once you thought it done (case in point, right after Juno announces the pregnancy). I’ve often wondered after a big bang moment, “Gee…I wonder what happened next in that home/coffee shop/hospital/bedroom).

The slow, snowy, bit unnervey drive home well worth it.

one of the most enjoyable movies I've seen in a long, long time. Thought the script was superb, but it takes a special ensemble of actors to pull off something that quirky that believably. So many great moments in this movie. And a really interesting observation: no cell phones in the movie. It's been called "this year's Little Miss Sunshine," but I think it blows LMS away.

Butt in seat at the Belmar, thinking, "Jefe would rock that Jason Bateman role". That sort of cool but warm, detached but charming guy. Hand to God ;)

Butt in seat at Regency Theater thinking, "I'd rock that Jason Bateman role." Seriously. I said as much to my wife about four times during the movie. Not that Bateman didn't rock it himself, because he did. I'd have just brought a little something extra...

I thought Diablo Cody started as a stripper!

Get in the knoooowwww...she worked at an agency as a copy writer and started stripping as a "social experiment" at the same time blogging about her experiences at "The Pussy Ranch" - http://diablocody.blogspot.com/. So came the book. So came the screenplays. I love this woman as only a straight woman could ;)

Just went to see this alone while my husband and son went to a Celtics game. Way awesome films, dudes. And way not predicable at all. Love the way it changed up when you thought Jennifer Garner was going to be a yuppie/anal beyotch, it was the cool husband that was the freaking total ass.

I want to see it again.
