I confess to being a bit stunned by the Faye Dunaway and James Stewart drubbings. Well at least nothing here leaves me bleeding into the regionals like a few of the previous sections.

Its obvious 22 of you will not appreciate what I am about to say, but holy crap does Al Pacino suck. What was the last movie that he was not cast as a loud, obnoxious, cocky, jerk. It must either be his perfect role or he can't get anything more interesting.

Jim, while I agree that Pacino has become a parody of himself, his roles in Godfathers I & II, Dog Day Afternoon and Scarface are things of legend. Stunning performances. So I venture to say his votes were more due to what he once was vs. whathe has been lately.

I concur with both of you regarding AP's stuff of legend and his subsequent demise into "Hoo-hah!" This was a tough pick, and I may have let the popularity factor guide my vote for AP (It's as far as he gets, I hope).

His one-on-one with De Niro in Heat is another legendary moment. Anyway he's up against Morgan Freeman. What's he ever done?

You forgot to mention Serpico and, as schmaltzy as it was, I loved him in Author! Author!

Emma, nice call on Serpico!

I had that Serpico poster on my wall as a teen. Man, he was one hot dude back then!

LOL. Morgan Freeman is awesome in Shawshank and Miss Daisy. He's also the best narrator or offscreen voice EVER! (well, maybe that's a tie with good old Orson Welles.)

Hey, where WAS Orson Welles? He wasn't that good?

It was only when I realized he's the same age as my mother that I decided maybe I shouldn't talk about not throwing him out of bed. But up until very recently when something went very much awry with his hair, he remained sizzlin'.

And while a few of his movies may have been stinkers, I've always enjoyed his performances... screaming or not.

I consider Orson Welles to be a stellar filmmaker, but just-above-average actor.

True that.
