I keep thinking one day the rest of the world will wake up and realize that Woody Allen is not funny. Then we can be at peace.

Actually, that's the only Woody Allen movie I like (I still didn't vote for it).

Am I the only person that finds Blazing Saddles "meh?" Apparently ;)

'k, here's the deal:

Woody Allen: not funny
3 Stooges: not funny
Mel Brooks: funny, even when he's not

HTH

;)

Woody Allen's funniest for me are "What's up Tiger Lily?" and "Take The Money And Run." I just DIE every time I see them.

3 Stooges- LOVE 'Em, but I think they are mostly a guy thing.

Brooks - Insanely funny!

Albert Brooks - Also insanely funny, but underappreciated. I have loved his stuff since his early SNL short flicks.

I usually find Woody unfunny, though Annie Hall was okay. Mel Brooks is great, but Blazing Saddles was kinda meh.

I can't believe WHMS didn't get further.

I'm forgetting who Albert Brooks is. Did he make a movie about a dorky guy and his mom? Cuz that was funny.

So. Freaking. True.

Yep, UV, there's a movie called Mother with him and Debbie Reynolds. "It tastes like an orange foot." Hee.

Yes, and that was the one where Debbie had the ice cream with a layer of "protective ice" on it!!

I also loved his "Defending Your Life" with Meryl Streep and Rip Torn.

I think my problem w/ Blazing Saddles might be that I compare it to Young Frankenstein, which is one of my faves. I think it has funny parts but I don't think it's as cohesively funny as YF or WHMS for that matter, which I chose b/c it's my favorite comedy... I think ;)

And hey, Albert Brooks's voice work in Finding Nemo is hilarious (and, again, underappreciated).

Oh yeah, I forgot that was him in Nemo as the daddy fish!

You know, I used to crush on Albert back when he was doing shorts for SNL. I thought he was endearingly cute.

Spoken like someone who isn't required to watch Nemo several times a week. How I envy you.

I can't wait until we're down to only several times a week.

We're currently having an combo of Over the Hedge and Monsters Inc. at Chez Piggyhawk. Over the Hedge is surprisingly funny, if you haven't seen it.

Hey, I did my time with the freaking Power Rangers! And I cannot tell you how many times I've seen Toy Story, Mulan, and all of those awful Land Before Time movies. Nemo, at least, is from Pixar and is creative and funny!

o'Tim - I almost forgot Lost in America and MOdern Romance! See, this Brooks is ALSO A CLASSIC!
